Straight Allies-Kelly Ripa & Mark Consuelos

March 26, 2010

2595337366_d141074cb7Its parents like these is why we are going to be alright…Kelly Ripa made the following quote on what if one of their children were Gay/Lesbian, her quote breathes acceptance and love:

Mark and I both feel fortunate that we’ve spent our entire adult lives in New York City, where we work, live, and play with some of the best and brightest Gay and Lesbian people in and outside of the industry — people I’m honored to call my friends and family. So we’ve never gone, ‘What would we do?’ To us, our children are a gift, we’re lucky to have them, and they’re born how they’re born, so it wouldn’t even be a discussion in our house.”

Brad and Angelina Ask Us to Stop With The Rumor Mill- Remember Our Friends

January 29, 2010

JolieandPittSo we’ve all been apart of the Brad and Angie break up rumor mill. Here is where it stands now, they are together, period. The rumors really hit a fervor when the couple became involved with a known LA super power custody attorney. They are NOT married and met with the attorney to assure their family’s future in the event of a tragedy. This is what responsible parents do, unfortunately this only fueled the separation rumor mill.  So let us as a community give them the benefit of the doubt, especially given that Brad Pitt alone gave $100,000 to fight against Prop 8

We love their public stance on not tying the knot, like in the August issue of Parade Magazine “I have love in my life, a soul mate–absolutely. When someone asked me why Angie and I don’t get married, I replied, ‘Maybe we’ll get married when it’s legal for everyone else.’ I stand by that, although I took a lot of flak for saying it–hate mail from religious groups. I believe everyone should have the same rights. They say Gay marriage ruins families and hurts kids. Well, I’ve had the privilege of seeing my Gay friends being parents and watching their kids grow up in a loving environment.” (jared)

SC Johnson: A FAMILY COMPANY

January 22, 2010

Windex_Original

So once a week, I must clean our home. Two guys living together…things need to get cleaned up!

Thankfully, the products we clean with are a part of the SC Johnson Company. Within their company, they have the GBC-Gay & Lesbian Business Council.  In 2003, the GBC of SC Johnson won the Out & Equal Employee Group of the Year Award.  This award recognizes groups that are advocating for LGBT equal rights in its workplace and the community at large.  Use these products that support you!

I am happy to clean with pride!

Walk Like A Mercedes

January 21, 2010

mechshoesSo We don’t have a Mercedes yet, big sh*$! So now we are going to walk like we have one.  Mercedes have given to the fight for equality and we need to remind them that we thank them for their support, here.

So now I want the shoes.  The Italian fashion house Santoni recently designed driving shoes to complement the Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG.  These shoes where even certified by an international driving association for being driving shoes.  Ikes!  They look hot and will eventually come in all the colors offered in the car.  Currently only available in black, we dig the the black.  Now to get the black SLS we’ve had our eyes on to go with them.  (Via: bornrich)

PICT1238More reason’s to love Apple, their Haiti relief efforts partner with The Red Cross. Please keep3481890418_26c0eeea9e giving there is so much aid needed there. Former President Clinton is heading to the ground, he would be the right man to put in charge of the efforts fast. His leadership will be a great asset to relief effort. Watch our President Clinton video here and keep up on the relief effort on MSNBC. There are so many groups trying to do good now, remember this is going to be a long effort so plan your giving.

Golden Globes- Well Done!

January 17, 2010

The Golden Globes we’re tonight and were a blast. Appropriately many moments were dedicated to the relief effort in Haiti and therefore the Globes had a less globeawardsruckus feel than years past. Ricky Gervais did a nice job hosting. He had us on the floor when he rambled about not being able to hold his booze as an introduction to Mel Gibson. Looks like Gervais was there to plug his products and rip some of Hollywood a new one for fun. Best winners included Mo’Nique for Supporting Actress for Precious (Best Speech), Glee for Comedy, Hangover for Motion Picture Comedy,  and cutie Robert Downey, Jr. gave the funniest and industry ribbing speech. Other big moments were a supporting win for Bastards, Mad Men again, and AVATAR swept with director and picture.  The Martin Scorsese receiving the Cecil B. Demil award was touching; his nickname the professor proven true again, a master of the craft.

Very glad that UP won, a touching film…but really felt sorry for Modern Family, our new favorite show.  Glee is great but Modern Family has us hooked.
