According to the site:
Outfest, the Los Angeles-based nonprofit organization dedicated to nurturing, showcasing and protecting lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) images, has announced an original and diverse programming lineup for Outfest 2010: The 28th Los Angeles Gay and Lesbian Film Festival. The nation’s leading LGBT festival and the oldest film festival in the city will be held July 8 to 18.
In addition to the 147 films (60 features and 87 shorts) from 23 countries, Outfest hosts over a dozen panels and special events at several venues across Los Angeles, including Hollywood, West Hollywood and Downtown.
“This year’s incredible line-up celebrates all of the forward-thinking artists that push the boundaries for LGBT rights and equality,” says Kirsten Schaffer, Executive Director of Outfest. “From Allen Ginsberg’s quest for personal and artistic liberation to stories that challenge the status quo in the age of Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell and gay marriage bans, this inspiring collection of films is sure to impact both gay and straight audiences.”

Want to see movies that were oscar winners/nominated?
Netflix is super entertaining and convenient, and it also has a great feature. Gay & Lesbian is a genre included so that you may find films that make you laugh, cry, learn, and be entertained by stories and satires of our community. There is also another fun fact for the Gay community.
Fun Fact: Mayor of West Sacaramento, Christopher Cabaldon is an out, Gay American politician who gained a handsome campaign contribution from Netflix founder Reed Hastings.

Ahhh…the scent of buttered, movie theater popcorn, over-priced candy, and colossal size drinks. To get out of the winter cold, a great way to spend time is to head to the movie theaters with family and friends. We won’t tell that you sneak a pack of jellybeans in your heavy-coat pocket.
AMC Theatres’ Keith Wiedenkeller had this to say, “We recognize that in order to be truly great, we need to embrace the kind of diversity we see in our guest population. It’s difficult to innovate or to adequately serve a diverse guest population without reflecting that diversity in our employment ranks.”
AMC made the top list for the HRC Buying for Equality Guide.
