I was discharged in 7/2010 from the US Army because I told the truth about my sexual orientation and refused to lie about my cherished lover and partner. I do not intend to lie about my identity or family in any portion of my service.
In an unfortunate turn of events, Lt. Choi was honorably discharged for being honest about who he is-A man willing to fight for our country, and who happens to be Gay. Watch his interview on Rachel Maddow.
Yes, the house and senate did pass the bill that will eventually lead to repealing DADT contingent on Pentagon’s review, however Gay and Lesbian service members can still be discharged until then. Right now a Dignity Fast is happening….

It is now known that Lt. Dan Choi was arrested after hand-cuffing himself to the White House fence demanding the repeal of DADT. Queerty.com was there to follow the story minute-by-minute.
First, it went according to plan with Choi, HRC, Kathy Griffin, and others. Then Choi went off script even catching Kathy Griffin off-guard by heading directly to the White House to get handcuffed along with Capt. Lt. Choi sent photographs to Bilerico.com to let people know that he was called back into service. He looks very happy to be in training. Since he is very committed to our country and our community, we knew there had to be reason for Choi not making his appearance at the Creating Change Conference. According to Choi, his commanding officer highly supports him even after he came out. This is a great thing! The wall of DADT discrimination is gaining some cracks and soon we will see it crumble down and just be part of our American history. Keep fighting Lt. Choi, and please be safe.
