Out with the Old or Unwanted Gifts?

December 28, 2010

giftboxSometimes we receive gifts that are unwanted, non-returnable, or can replace something old.  Or, you may feel that you still want to be giving rather than receiving.  What do you do? Donate!

Simple tip: locate your local LGBT center that is in need of donations and find out what they need and if you can help them. How great will that be?  New Year, New and thoughtful you!

The Brisbane Times of Brisbane, Australia has some good tips on what to do with those unwanted gifts.

Where Are You Staying for the Holidays?…try Kimpton Hotels

December 1, 2010

HotelBurnham

The first hotel company to receive a 100% score of the HRC Corporate Equality Index, Kimpton Hotels are boutique hotels and the staff is GREAT!  Most importantly they are GLBT supportive inside and out.  Throughout all levels of employment, GLBT is represented, and they also outreach to the community through their project KGLEN (the Kimpton Gay & Lesbian Employee Network)

The Burnham Hotel Chicago was AMAZING to our pup.  We had a sleek room, with a window seat overlooking beautiful State Street.  The historic stairway in the lobby is worthy of a sneaky peek!

Labor Day Weekend! Drive Safe!

September 3, 2010

gas-300x209Its Labor Day weekend, and for those of you who are traveling by car, please drive safe!!!

The following are corporate sponsors to the HRC and are taking the right steps towards helping us reach equality.

Chevron: Caltex, Texaco, Shell Oil

If there is a lot of competition around, let the owner know why you picked their business… the franchise owners can really pressure corporate to establish better ties in our community.
