We know many have seen this video, but its just so wonderful that DADT is history and soldiers can come out today while on duty and there will be no punishments or consequences!
Remember there are people you do not even know yet who love you. As you continue your life, may you love yourself and have fun learning about the ones you love and will love you in return.
Today, the winds of change could come for a our soldiers. Seventeen years ago, President Clinton enacted the Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell policy which put into law that no soldier could serve openly as a Gay man or woman. The senate has the power to vote to repeal and that vote is today.
We want to take this vote, and put it into a brief description.
To vote to keep DADT would be DISCRIMINATION.
To vote to repeal DADT would be JUSTICE
President Clinton stated a year ago while appearing on Anderson Cooper 360 that he regrets enacting that law. Exclusive here on EqualJunction.com, Clinton stated that in 1993, he was an old man, and he acted on old man views.
Yesterday, Lady Gaga stated “Equality is the prime rib of America,” she said, urging Sens.Susan Collins and Olympia Snowe to share “the greatest cut of meat that my country has to offer” with gays and lesbians in the military.

To keep DADT, simply put, is keeping segregation alive. President Obama should have enacted a stop-loss order so that the military would not lose qualified, intelligent men and women who want to serve our country. Erasing DADT would be a step in the right direction.

Today’s monsoon afternoon in Nepal brought rainbows of color to a gray day as they celebrated their ninth LGBT PRIDE.
First openly Gay lawmaker Sunil Babu Panta was the grand marshall as he (get this) rode on an elephant down the parade route…how amazing! Sunil Babu Panta is head of the Blue Diamond Society which fights for LGBT rights in Nepal. Closely marching by him was Nepal’s first Transgender politician, Bhumika Shrestha, marching down the street in a purple sari – the color representing change
This year’s parade aims at ending all forms of discrimination, ending poverty and – promoting tourism.‘It’s about promoting tourism, in line with the upcoming Tourism Year 2011, while also taking the unique festival to international level,’ Panta said.
In an unfortunate turn of events, Lt. Choi was honorably discharged for being honest about who he is-A man willing to fight for our country, and who happens to be Gay. Watch his interview on Rachel Maddow.
On an interview, Brat Pack member Ally Sheedy star of “The Breakfast Club” and “St. Elmo’s Fire” revealed that her daughter is a Lesbian. Her daughter is young and proud to be a Lesbian, however, she was camera shy about her mom revealing her sexuality. Ally Sheedy has accepted her daughter without any hesitation and is happy for her!
Earlier, we posted when singer/actor and former Menudo member Ricky Martin officially came out. Now another member publicly stepped out of the closet as well. Angelo Garcia feels that he never hid his sexuality, Garcia just wants to be honest as a whole. He was along side Ricky Martin in Menudo when Garcia was 10 years old, sexuality never came up as a conversation between the two. Garcia was not surprised by Martin’s sexuality.
Yes, the house and senate did pass the bill that will eventually lead to repealing DADT contingent on Pentagon’s review, however Gay and Lesbian service members can still be discharged until then. Right now a Dignity Fast is happening….
