Glenn Beck is rallying to ‘give back America to God’… we think God would probably state, who does this guy think he is Beware of false profits! While Beck openly stated that he is actually supportive of same-sex marriage. He still has speakers at his rally that are anti-Gay, such as, sorry to say-the niece of Martin Luther King, Jr., Alveda King who openly stated that she is anti-Gay, even though her legendary uncle’s right hand man, Bayard Rustin, was the co-organizer of THE REAL rally for Civil Rights was openly Gay. MLK believed that justice delayed is justice denied.

Honestly, we don’t feel this rally has any heart, but it seems to be a sad, tangental recreation of a movement that states that we need to take back America. Just because you talk loud does not mean people are going to listen. Talk is cheap.

We can ‘take America back’ by educating ourselves and each other. To teach the correct history, and create a better union, our country can prosper. You know what? Watch a real rally

Appreciate Life, Its a Gift…Argentine Newlywed Dies at His Own Wedding Reception

Nestor Berchot, only 45, died after collapsing at his wedding. High blood pressure contributed to his passing out and eventually dying hours later. He is survived by his husband, Adrian Garcia. They were one of the first Gay couples to be legally married in Argentina.

For his widow, we wish he could of had longer time with his love Nestor, but he died a happily married man. Our hearts go out to Mr. Garcia, friends, and family of Mr. Berchot.

Happy to Visit Home

The past few days have been wonderful. We are fortunate enough to have our families join together to share love, laughter, and humor since we began our visit to our hometown Chicago. I (Marcos) cannot believe my little brother will be a teenager soon. He plays a mean bass and his hair keeps getting longer-all the hipsters are jealous. Oh to be that age again.

Our in-laws were together for the weekend and had a wonderful time swimming, kayaking, hiking, and talking of stories past. We must remember whether blood or not, your family is your family. We both read constantly about the negative in our community such as the recent crimes against Gay men in Palm Spring, CA to the recent suicides of LGBT’s who cannot wake up to another day of feeling they have to be ridiculed.

Keep in mind the one’s who do love you healthily. Follow your heart and love one-another. It can get better all the time.

Ace of Cakes!

In one of our favorite magazines, Equally Wed, they recently interviewed Duff from Ace of Cakes!

They asked about the first same-sex wedding cake:

EW: Do you remember your first assignment for a same-sex couple?

DG: The first one we did was a rat on a manhole cover. We don’t care about sexual orientation—it’s not like ‘Oh, yay, we’re making a cake for gay people!’ or ‘Oh. We’re making a cake for gay people.’ We’re just making a cake for people who love each other.

Congrats to the Leosdottir-Sigurdardottir Family

Journalist and playwright Jonina Leosdottir married Johanna Sigurdardottir, Prime Minister of Iceland over the weekend (Pride Weekend). There was no ceremony, but it still was a major moment in history as the first world leader in modern history to legally marry a same-sex partner. Congrats to the Leosdottir-Sigurdardottir family! Let this send waves of justice to other lands in the near future!

LGBT Person You Should Know-Storme DeLarverie

Storme-a force of nature, who now resides in Room 609 of a nursing home in Brooklyn. She’s a Lesbian who was there that night working as a bouncer at the Stonewall Inn in 1969. Storme DeLarverie fought for her rights, and is allegedly The cross-dressed bouncer who was first beaten by the police which commenced the riots (that lady was never identified). Unfortunately, Dementia has taken over the 89 year old heroine, but does remember things here and there. DeLarverie remembers being a Jewel Box Revue performer at the famous Apollo Theatre in Harlem. Clearly, if Ms. DeLarverie’s memoirs existed, it would be something to sink yourself into and marvel at this woman’s fight for rights before the fight started.

Even though she was weak on the Pride holiday, DeLarverie had her mind focused to go to the parade. During the interview she took off her slippers and looked for her walking shoes with the intentions to attend, however her body is too weak to participate, but her heart still marches onward. Earlier, we posted when singer/actor and former Menudo member Ricky Martin officially came out. Now another member publicly stepped out of the closet as well. Angelo Garcia feels that he never hid his sexuality, Garcia just wants to be honest as a whole. He was along side Ricky Martin in Menudo when Garcia was 10 years old, sexuality never came up as a conversation between the two. Garcia was not surprised by Martin’s sexuality.
