We are in love with our community and love our friends in it! We’re proud of two young sisters in the fight who’ve taken the leap and decided to give the greatest gift of one’s eternal self to eachother. We have been so blessed to have someone to cherish and grow with, and we wish them all the years of joy and happiness we’ve had.
However, their local on the map (Illinois-our home state) unfortunately limits their equality (when will we learn?) BUT they are some smart, funny, talented women, and below is their wedding announcement/fundraiser video which turns their day of rejoice into a day for all to support the future of equality for all. We love weddings and their power to unite, how inspirational for their nuptials to be a rally of support and a better future for all.
With the 5 brave activists doing a sit-in in McCain’s office, we were propelled to the cell to call McCain’s office in Arizona. Marcos called and spoke with McCain’s assistant. The conversation consisted of why McCain should repeal DADT with the following points:
Marcos explained to his assistant that we firmly believe that it is wrong for soldiers to hide themselves when they are making the greatest sacrifice for our country.
Marcos clarified that the one of the most decorated battalions under General Eisenhower, in World War II, was 99% comprised of hard-working, Lesbian servicewomen.
Senator McCain should listen to his wife Cindy and daughter Megan more due to their vocal support of the LGBT community.
Unfortunately, later the 5 activists were arrested at his Arizona office. Watch below to see what took place.
This is unbelievable, this doesn’t necessarily fall under LGBT, but I wouldn’t be surprised if and when a Latino/a same-sex couple will be in this unfortunate situation in Arizona. Since I am Mexican, I have been asked by police if I was legally born in the United States, even after I showed my license and state ID. We feel so terrible for this couple that had to go through this…

We had the pleasure of attending Father Geoff Farrow’s Sermon this Sunday here in Hollywood and the United Methodist Church. His Sermon was emotional and inspirational. He unraveled the unique and curious theological history of marriage’s growth throughout the ages, and how it embodies all our, and Creator’s desire, to become a better fully realized self. Sharing your love makes you a better servant to the Lord, to yourself, and to becoming a better champion of peace for all.
Father Farrow was stripped of his congregation in Fresno, California after preaching against the church’s position to support proposition 8. His bravery, honesty, and commitment to follow the Bibles teaching of love should have been championed by the church. He may not have a church now but he surely has a flock now as a leader and crusader for his community. If you have not read his blog or heard him speak-it is a MUST. We’ll be posting a video from this weekend within the week. His sermons reflect love, equality, and acceptance of all God’s children, all while challenging your brain-who else can verbally lead you through rabbinical law all the way to the views of Malcolm X? Father Geoff, is a leader for our tomorrow.
We were very happy to pose for photographer Adam Bouska’s NOH8 photo shoot. Our official pictures will be out soon, but above you can see our faces with the NOH8 still on it while playing with our dog.

Dorothy Height overcame adversity at a time when African-Americans were not granted equal rights. Her last name reflects how she soared went in life. When many women, no matter what race, did not commonly continue education past high school or lower, Height received a masters degree in educational psychology from NYU in 1933!
Ms. Dorothy Height witnessed every civil rights march and of course participated as well. She was a top advisor to many. Height had the attention of First Lady Eleanor Roosevelt, President Eisenhower, and President Johnson. What truly touched us was that she advised Elizabeth Birch, former president of the HRC for LGBT rights when ENDA had its initial vote in ‘96.
Height died at 98 on April 20th. She witnessed woman and African-Americans fight for their rights when they had little to then see an African-American man become President of the United States. Because of people like Dorothy Height, a legacy will be left full of leaders and citizens of all genders, races, creeds, colors, and religions, a who will continue to work together to create a more perfect union.
Look at your office chair, go ahead, look at it, comfortable? If not, Herman Miller may be a solution. Yes, they can be pricey, but there is good reason to spend that much on office furniture. For multiple years, they received a top rating by the HRC’s Corporate Equality Index for its impeccable, equal treatment of the LGBT employees. We love their furniture!!!
