MA, What Were You Thinking?
Well…um…congratulations to newly elected senator Scott Brown. He is considered to be a more centralist from the far right, being pro-choice and woman’s right to choose.
He however is not on our side for equality, yet. Even NOM was running anti-gay robocalls for him today. But the electorate has spoken, we must respect that. Today the election in MA said a clear message to the democrats-Grow a pair. If they do not produce the results the people believe they’ve elected them to return, then they will vote against them. This isn’t a Republican uprising, this is an independent cry for change. Senator Kennedy’s legacy will always be his body of great works for this nation, not this grab for his seat.
Not a good day for democrats or the health care bill that we desperately need for this
countries future. With a majority health care can still succeed but it will take a new partner in the senate. President Obama should not soldier all the blame for this loss, for this was a poorly run campaign. One of the rules, face to face meetings win elections, period. Any political advisor worth their weight will tell you the same, in a ideal world their candidate would meet with as many of the possible constituent base as possible during a campaign. Unfortunately, Martha Coakley let her plan overshadow her reality. If you are not meeting with voters constantly you are not going to win the election. Press is great, face time is better. Look how quickly the press turned on you Coakley. We do not want to sound like we are eating our own, we just want the focus to come back. Your thoughts?
