CBS-C an’t B elieve this S #!7!

January 31, 2010

CBSRemember that scene in the Stallone movie Demolition Man where the characters of Sandra Bullock and Benjamin Bratt were exclaiming their love of the commercial radio station…all commercials and jingles all the time. Well, with all this hype about commercials…

Now, CBS, a channel that has benefitted from Gay actors and Gay storylines is filtering their commercials towards an anti-Gay, conservative audience. WTF?! Let’s take a step back for a bit. What does this say? Are couch spectators more concerned about commercialism than the actual subject of the night? Seems like it! What to do?

Here’s the way CBS should solve this, maybe they didn’t agree with the ManCrunch ad. Its unfortunate for ManCrunch, cause we all know that racy ads sell, and ManCrunch did not re-invent the wheel in regards to sex selling. Their ad was quick, racy, and funny. However, if CBS was going for a more conservative market, i.e. the pro-life commercial, couldn’t they have accepted a bidding for a conservative Gay commercial? Match.com where are you? CBS needs to fix this situation in an equal and neutral manner immediately! It may not be more left, it may not be more right, but it needs to gain good attention and give respect to their ENTIRE audience. Us Gays watch football too!

If you are local to Los Angeles, a wonderful business we use when we have to go out of town, or we won’t be home for awhile is Bon Ami Pet Sitting. First, they come for a quick, low-cost consultation to make sure to meet you and your dog prior to your departure. If you, the owner, are happy with them then you set up days and times! You can rest at ease if you are too busy to tend to your little ones at home.

HBO: A Family is A Family…

January 30, 2010

hbo

…from the mouths of babes.  Executive produced by Rosie O’Donell, A Family is a Family is an insight into what makes a family from the children’s point of view.  Children are pure and unedited.  Unlike adults, children are the truest of speakers.

We believe the one thing that makes a family is love. “It doesn’t matter if you have one parent, it doesn’t matter if you have two moms or two dads, just stick with it, a family is a family.”

Get the tissue boxes ready, we are sure to be touched by this endearing documentary. A Family is a Family will air January 31 at 7pm on HBO.

Containers of Equality

Out and Equal Award Winners Newell Rubbermaid states the following: “A global, diverse workforce gives us a broader view of the world and helps us use our differences – and similarities – to deliver best-in-class results.”

Yes, a great thing is that spring cleaning is just around the corner. Think about purchasing from rubbermaid for your storage and cleaning needs. I love organization, I would go crazy with a rubbermaid shopping spree. Imagine the organizing madness you could do?

Geoffrey Morrell It Is Time To Change

January 29, 2010

morellGeoffrey Morrell the Pentagon Press Secretary became a little defensive when asked if the President Obama’s was going to pledge during the State of the Union to end DADT. Now we understand that the question posed by the journalist was more garnered for the the White House press room.

However, Mr. Morrell, the Commander and Chief has made his wishes clear, it needs to end this year.  We hope this wasn’t lip service from the White House, one signing order could change the implementation of DADT.  We understand that there is a lot on your proverbiale “desk,” it’s time to clear out the inbox, and let’em be OUT!

Here’s an old ad for a laugh: Why do I fear that some narrow-minded people fear this is what the army will look like after the end of DADT!

Brad and Angelina Ask Us to Stop With The Rumor Mill- Remember Our Friends

January 29, 2010

JolieandPittSo we’ve all been apart of the Brad and Angie break up rumor mill. Here is where it stands now, they are together, period. The rumors really hit a fervor when the couple became involved with a known LA super power custody attorney. They are NOT married and met with the attorney to assure their family’s future in the event of a tragedy. This is what responsible parents do, unfortunately this only fueled the separation rumor mill.  So let us as a community give them the benefit of the doubt, especially given that Brad Pitt alone gave $100,000 to fight against Prop 8

We love their public stance on not tying the knot, like in the August issue of Parade Magazine “I have love in my life, a soul mate–absolutely. When someone asked me why Angie and I don’t get married, I replied, ‘Maybe we’ll get married when it’s legal for everyone else.’ I stand by that, although I took a lot of flak for saying it–hate mail from religious groups. I believe everyone should have the same rights. They say Gay marriage ruins families and hurts kids. Well, I’ve had the privilege of seeing my Gay friends being parents and watching their kids grow up in a loving environment.” (jared)

Tylenolsimplesleep

OK, so we are getting better, but to make us both feel even better, we take our medicine.  To make it through the day, tylenol benefits us.

Others that benefit are seven cities: Los Angeles, Seattle, San Diego, New York City, Columbus, Atlanta, Dallas all have one thing in common. Tylenol is supporting these cities’ Pride events for 2010!  Since 2003, Tylenol has been visible at LGBT events and even has a section in their website that gives information on the LGBT events and organizations they support.

Rumor Mill…the Repeal of DADT?

January 27, 2010

ChoiCermakOchoa

So the rumor mill is running.  Early this morning, we heard a small blip on the radar about Obama calling for the repeal of Don’t Ask Don’t Tell (DADT)-the policy that bans Gays and Lesbians from serving in the military in his State of the Union tonight.  Its time to happen and happen now!

Other info about this possibility has hit the larger news markets, so we hope that Obama will call to congress to repeal DADT!  This will be a huge step forward for the LGBT community and we cannot wait to find out!  For more information CLICK HERE
