Since we love reading and small businesses, we like to write briefly about Books on the Square located in P-town, Rhode Island. Inside, they feature a LGBT section that has books on LGBT families and history. Check them out!
Lucky LGBT residents of ‘the Constitution State’ may get married at a venue that offers New England elegance and luxurious spa treatments.
The Mayflower Inn & Spa in Washington, Connecticut has a wedding package named At Last which includes a rehearsal dinner, couples’ massage, garden ceremony, and officiant. A great treat is that the inn also offers 25% off room rates on the couples’ wedding anniversary for life!
Nothing like waking up early in the morning on a freezing winter day, then grabbing a coffee or tea, then right before you board your public transit, you spot an ad that hurts you and your family. GOOD MORNING…survey says X (cue buzzer sound)
Washington DC’s transit ads have been attacked by the anti-gay group Stand for Marriage. You know the group that thinks they can get to vote on other people’s marriage and claim a selfish victory that hurts many.
Monday morning, after many DC workers have returned from holiday break, they will receive a rude awakening when they view anti-Gay ads on the metro. Think of it this way-this act is the same as if the ads were anti-woman, anti-Hispanic, anti-African-American, etc. How did this happen?
Couldn’t these groups invest their advertising $’s in education, charities, churches, something that would be a positive impact on our society or is this act in DC another barrier they want to build in the path to equality?
Alright, so a crazy relative or friend gave you something you really didn’t want or need, and even though you accepted the gift of an ugly sweater graciously (and we hope you did-mind your manners) you probably will return it!
Here are some places that are OUR friends to shop with the returns or the gift money you received.
Target, Best Buy, Home Depot, American Apparel, Apple, Starbucks, Lucky Brand, Petco, Herman Miller, Barnes & Noble, and don’t forget about your local small business shops that support equality!
With the Holiday travel rush upon us, we must use strict caution with traveling. We all want to see our loved one’s, so make sure to exercise patience and safety no matter if you are going to Iceland or crossing a street of ice. Also dress appropriately for the weather, and enjoy!
A domino effect of struggles has been hampering the Chicago Free Press newspaper. We used to pick-up this issue every Wednesday when we resided in Chicago. Sadly, the staff has walked out!
Not only are they good for equality, St. Felix has some of the best eats and drinks in West Hollywood, check out this review in the LATIMES. Recently we went for a few eats and drinks at St Felix and now we are hooked. One of the best spots for drinks and bites with friends in WeHo. The drinks are incredible, rarely are there restaurants that combine great cuisine and a bar menu that equally entertains your palette.
Make sure to try their tacos while the mini burgers are the best in town. We are red meat guys and this is place delivered. (Say what you want about us Midwesterner’s but we know our meat) They also have a large platter dish that is perfect for a table. One of us isn’t much of a drinker, unless it is truly delicious… lets just say the martini menu kept our entire tablewanting another round. This may sound crazy, but one of their dessert drinks actually tasted like it had a pie crust after-taste to each bite, a true course in a drink. The atmosphere is fab, perfect location for a night out, let us know what you think?
Squeezable Meat might be our new favorite gay club name, now its meant for your kitchen. Ok- so they haven’t given a great deal towards equality, but the company is on our side: Make sure to give this a try… if you are truly brave and a lover of squeezed meats.
How will you use your squeezable meat? We think replacing our favorite veggie’s toothpaste might be a start, looking for ideas….
